We have an awsome GOD! We know that Romans 8:28 says "...we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." Passage of Time
Time passes expeditiously
As we watch our children grow.
Erstwhile unsteady steps,
Turn to confidence and go.Quondam, arrant dependence,
Whilst in mother's arms he lay;
Quickly shifts to self-reliance,
As he turns to walk away.A precious gift we're given
To nurture, love and hold
So brief the time of teaching
Before she leaves the fold.Treasure every moment
Don't let a second pass you by
Hold him just a little longer
Before he turns to say good-bye.Read him one more story,
Sing her one more song,
For the time it passes quickly
And they'll soon be moseying along.

WHO IS SCOTT OVERLOCK?

Since the accident, on November 27, I have been sending out e-mails to churches all over the united states. The e-mail I have been sending out is below:
"My name is George Benson and my nephew, Scott Overlock, was in a very serious car accident on Friday November 27, 2009. He is currently in a coma at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor Maine.
I am writing to ask you to please put Scott (and his family) on your prayer chain. We have set up a website for people to track his progress and to see specific prayer requests...the web address is www.prayforscott.org.
I believe that God can bring healing to my nephew and I pray that you and your audience would be willing to put this young man of God on your prayer lists.
Sincerely,
George Benson"
One common question that has been asked over and over again by the recipients of that e-mail is this: Who is Scott Overlock?
I know from some of the stories I have been told that Scott has touched many of your lives as he has mine. I hope that you will be willing to share those stories here so that when a stranger comes to this site they are moved to pray on a consistent basis for Scotts healing. As we share the connections that make Scott special to us, we are at the same time providing the fuel to motivate others to pray daily (or more often) for Scotts healing.
SO WHO IS SCOTT OVERLOCK?
HOW HAS HE TOUCHED YOUR LIFE?

Regina Gardella: I have become the seed
Two weeks ago, my world hit a brick wall and flipped upside down. Everything I knew became unknown and I became lost. I no longer knew what to believe and the life that I had made for myself no longer felt right. I searched the night trying to find anything onto which I could hold just to keep from spinning. Sleep became undesired because dreams became unknown. Food lost its flavor and began to make me sick. Tears which have not touched my cheeks in years became like waterfalls and the heart which previously filled my chest began to get heavy and feel an indescribable amount of pain. A pain that was not only emotional, but physical as well. The relationship which I had started with another person became solitary.
I used to describe myself as a seed, floating away with the wind. Not belonging anywhere, but making openness my home. I have always worn a mask of strength and confidence, never needing anything from anyone. It was not until two weeks ago that I discovered how flawed that belief was. I have never flown on the wind. I have never been a seed. I have always held onto what I had before starting something new. I was afraid of drifting in the unknowns. Not knowing where I was going to sleep, what I was going to eat, or how I was going to pay bills terrified me. The masks I once donned became too heavy for me to bear.
Scott is a seed. He thrives on the unknown and turns everything into an adventure. He finds joy in everything and he does not allow the trivial matters of life to disarm him. He sees a sign and follows it; its destination unknown. He does not know what will happen next week, next month, next year, yet continues on with such determination. He touches every person he meets and makes everyone desire to be a better person.
I have become a different person, a better person. My sun has begun to shine amidst the darkest of storms and my eyes no longer see desperation. I still question my future. I still question my purpose. I still question my grip on stability, but I no longer run from it.
I have been broken. I have removed my masks. I have become the seed.

kgrinnell ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ): The boy who loves the woods
Scott came into the lives of our family 10 years ago. My son Sam was homeschooling and craving to have a homeschool friend who liked the same things he did. Well Sam got much more than he asked for. These boys spent a lot of time in the woods, it was the classroom that they created for themselves. In their young adult life they were lucky enought to spend a year sharing a room at Colby-Sawyer College . Both families were comforted by the thought that our boys were together, even if they did occasionally get into trouble. Scott has touched us with his brilliant and inquisitive mind, his incredible love of life and desire to live it to the fulliest.

George Benson ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ): More than a nephew, Scott is a true frie...
In thinking about Scott, I am reminded of so many different memories, from the times that he was always willing to help with construction projects, to the hours we spent together fixing computers.
Most recently I remember Scott helping pull carpet up at a bowling center that was being renovated. He and his dad and brothers were volunteering to help and the project got done much faster because of it.
Scott is a loving young man of God who is always willing to give of himself to others. He has been used by God to help build houses in Tijuana on a missions trip, and to help build forts with his younger brothers!!
Scott is so much more than just a nephew....Scott is a true friend!!

He's My Son by Mark Schultz
I'm down on my knees again tonight
I'm hoping this prayer will turn out right
See there is a boy that needs Your help
I've done all that I can do myself
His mother is tired
I'm sure You can understand
Each night as he sleeps
She goes in to hold his hand
And she tries not to cry
As the tears fill her eyesCHORUS:
Can You hear me?
Am I getting through tonight?
Can You see him?
Can You make him feel all right?
If You can hear me
Let me take his place somehow
See, he's not just anyone
He's my sonSometimes late at night I watch him sleep
I dream of the boy he'd like to be
I try to be strong and see him through
But God who he needs right now is You
Let him grow old
Live life without this fear
What would I be
Living without him here
He's so tired and he's scared
Let him know that You're thereCHORUS
Can You hear me?
Can You see him?
Please don't leave him
He's my son
